Training

A. Hossain & Associates encourages entrance to the profession by providing training and pupillage. The training programme at the firm enables a newly called Barrister or Advocate to quickly learn the ropes of the profession and enable him to acquire skills that will help him become a successful lawyer. The firm is very diverse in its practice areas, thus trainees in their first year will be trained in all the areas of the firm’s practice.

The firm deals with challenging cases and issues which the trainee will also find himself involved in from the very first day at the firm. As the firm deals with very high profile cases and clients, both domestic and international, it is an experience a trainee is unlikely to find in any other firm in the country. The firm has one of the highest calibers of lawyers and friendliest atmospheres, making it a very attractive and desirable workplace, thus the competition for entry to the firm is quite high. All the firm’s Associates are former trainees who successfully completed the training programme. Entry Requirements

Degree: L.L.B (at least Higher Second Class)
Postgraduate: Barrister at Law (Preferred), L.L.M (foreign preferred)

Training Programme

The Training programme lasts for 12 months or such other period required by the trainee to attain advocacy rights at the District or High Court bar. The programme is structured in the following way:

  1. First three months the trainee will undertake training in legal research, client care and practice methods.
  2. Second three months the trainee will receive training in corporate work.
  3. In the last six months the trainee will receive training in dispute resolution.
