With the introduction of innovative financial services and products to the Bangladesh markets, the firm has considerable expertise in securities regulation requirements. A Hossain & Associates was also involved in a project for Bangladesh Bank called Central Bank Strengthening Project. Mr. Ajmalul Hossain QC was the Lead Consultant, working with lawyers from Gide Loyrette Nouel and Fox Mandal Little & Co. The Project was designed to increase the efficiency of Bangladesh Bank’s regulation and supervision of banks and financial institutions within the country. This included drafting statutes and designing policies, the main purpose of which was to study the Bangladesh Bank Order 1972, Bank Companies Act 1991, Financial Institutions Act 1993 and suggest suitable modifications so as to enable the Central Bank to function more effectively and enforce its policies and directions.
