Mr. Ajmalul Hossain QC is the Lead Consultant and is working with lawyers from the International Law Firm, Gide Loyrette Nouel, Paris, France and Fox Mandal Little & Co. of India. The Project is designed to increase the efficiency of the Bangladesh Bank in relation to its regulation and supervision of banks and financial institutions in the country and includes drafting statutes and designing policies. The main purpose of the said Project is to study the Bangladesh Bank Order 1972, Bank Companies Act 1991, Financial Institutions Act 1993  and suggest suitable modifications so as to enable the central bank effectively function and enforce its policies and directions.
